Wellesley College to Deploy Bluenog ICE

Selects Integrated Content Management, Portal and Business Intelligence Software as the Foundation for its New Web Presence

PISCATAWAY, N.J., April 28, 2009 – Bluenog, an enterprise software and solutions company, has announced that Wellesley College will deploy its flagship product, Bluenog ICE™.

The prestigious liberal arts college for women, located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, will use Bluenog ICE as the foundation for its public-facing website. An “Integrated Collaborative Environment” of content management (ECM or CMS), portal and business intelligence (BI) software, Bluenog ICE leverages Web 2.0 technologies and provides tight integration with existing IT infrastructure.

With over 50,000 pages, Wellesley’s website is the primary informational source for prospective students and their families and for students, faculty, staff and alumnae. The College has embarked on an extensive overhaul of its website in an effort to enhance the site’s design and functionality. The new site will reflect the diversity and richness of the institution and respond to the interests and needs of external and internal audiences. Key project goals include a consistent navigational interface across the site and the implementation of a content management system (CMS) to facilitate information updates and maintenance. In addition, access to existing transactional systems such as its ERP solution, SunGard Banner, and calendaring/scheduling solution, Resource25, was required.

Following an extensive requirements definition effort, the College undertook a thorough evaluation of content management systems to achieve its new web presence objectives. After a detailed assessment, Wellesley ultimately chose Bluenog from an initial slate of eight potential vendors.

Bluenog ICE will enable Wellesley’s content owners to quickly and easily update and publish content based on their role and access privileges. This will streamline Wellesley’s previously decentralized content management process and help ensure consistency and accuracy across the entire site. Bluenog ICE also excelled at other key criteria including: content lifecycle management, versioning, scheduling and workflow capabilities, and seamless integration with existing systems, such as ERP and calendaring/scheduling. Other key differentiators included 24x7 system availability, scalability, its reliability and comprehensive training and support.

With the selection of Bluenog ICE complete, Wellesley has teamed with Bluenog Solutions Group to architect, design and implement the new site. Initial deployment is scheduled for Fall 2009.
